Getting a Visa for Guinea-Bissau in Ziguinchor, Senegal

by Dec 5, 2019Guinea-Bissau, Tips

Getting your visa for Bissau in Ziguinchor just may be the most pain-free interaction you will ever have with bureaucracy in West Africa. The whole thing takes about 5 minutes. What’s more, the friendly consular officer will even fill out the paperwork for you.

The embassy is located in the center of town, on an unpaved side street a few blocks from two of the city’s biggest avenues. Give Monsieur Mamady Diallo, the General Consul, a call at 775316228 to let him know you are coming. This will help speed things along.

The visa costs are as follows:

25,000 CFA : 1 month, multiple entry visa
30,000 CFA : 3 months, multiple entry

The whole process takes about 5 minutes. You do not need to drop off your passport and pick it up the next day. The consular officer does everything right in front of you while you sit in the A/C. Not a bad deal and probably the most pleasant experience you will have getting a visa in West Africa.

One important note: The embassy is open for visa processing from 8:30 – 14:00, Monday through Friday.

We regularly stop here for visas on our Dakar to Bissau scooter trips, and we’d like to think that the information is up to date. Please let us know in the comments if you have been to this embassy in Ziguinchor and if anything has changed recently.

No changes in visa process for Guinea-Bissau in Ziguinchor. Only passport and 25k cash needed and you’re out in 10 minutes.
